Accelya FLX Recover and Meili's Alaska launch: the extras after the ticket, from World Aviation Festival
World Aviation Festival opened in Lisbon on Oct. 13, 2026, and two of the first-day announcements were about what happens around the ticket rather than the ticket itself. Accelya launched FLX Recover, an agentic AI product that rebuilds a disrupted passenger’s journey, including the extras they already paid for. Meili announced Alaska Airlines as a direct car rental partner, live nine business days after kick-off.
What Accelya launched
Per Accelya’s press release and product page:
- Specialised agents for disruption. FLX Recover detects and classifies a disruption, assesses each passenger’s needs, evaluates recovery options, coordinates actions, and keeps the passenger informed, working through affected passengers in parallel.
- The whole journey, not just the seat. It can weigh onward connections, interline alternatives, loyalty status, group and family travel, special assistance, seats, baggage, ancillary purchases, and compensation obligations.
- Airline-set autonomy. Depending on the airline’s policies, it recommends an action for human approval or executes it automatically. Actions are logged against one disruption ID.
- Open by design. It is PSS-agnostic and can run inside FLX ONE or connect to an airline’s existing PSS, order management, CRM, and communications systems.
- Stack and availability. Powered by FLX AIViator, built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, engineered with RapidScale. Available now, and through AWS Marketplace.
Accelya ties the product to the shift to offers and orders: more personalised orders also have to be recovered and serviced when the journey changes. Among its suggested measures of success is “ancillary value protected.”
What Meili announced
Per Meili:
- Direct car rental for Alaska Airlines, connecting the airline to car rental partners while it keeps control of the customer experience, brand, and data.
- Nine business days from implementation kick-off to live.
- A growing airline network that Meili says includes Lufthansa, SAS, LATAM, and Air Canada.
Also this week: Dragonpass buys iCoupon
On Oct. 8, Dragonpass acquired iCoupon Global, per The Moodie Davitt Report. iCoupon attaches digital entitlements to a passenger’s boarding pass for redemption at airport points of sale, and its platform is used for airline disruption and passenger welfare programmes as well as loyalty and promotions. Dragonpass adds that network to its lounges, fast track, and dining. Terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters for AI travel agent builders
An extra is not done when it is sold. Accelya’s framing is the useful part: when a flight moves, the lounge visit, fast track slot, airport transfer, and eSIM start date may all need to move with it, and cover may need to pay out. An AI agent that sold those extras should be able to look them up from the booking, re-quote, and rebook them, not just apologise. That means storing every ancillary against the booking reference and keeping supplier ids from the original call.
Human approval stays in the loop. FLX Recover lets the airline decide which actions run automatically and which need a person. Agent builders face the same question for their own tools: free reads can run freely, while anything that charges, cancels, or files a claim should wait for an explicit yes.
Direct integrations are measured in days now. Meili’s nine-business-day launch is a supplier talking about its own deployment, but it signals what airlines now expect. Builders adding extras to an agent should expect the same: one integration, many suppliers, and no months-long project per category.
Airline-side agents serve the airline’s order. FLX Recover works for the carrier and its systems. OTAs and agent builders still need their own route to the extras outside the airline’s order, such as third-party lounges, transfers, connectivity, and cover.
Where Ancilair fits
Ancilair exposes the extras around a trip as tools an agent can call over MCP, REST, or CLI with one token: disruption cover from Koala, AirHelp, and Collinson SmartDelay, plus lounges, fast track, transfers, and eSIM. Each price is quoted on the call at the supplier’s rate with 0% markup, and paid steps run only after an explicit yes with an Idempotency-Key. An AirHelp compensation check is not a filed claim; opening one is a separate call after a yes. See the Layover kit workflow for a long connection.
What to watch
- Which airlines deploy FLX Recover first, and which recovery actions they allow to run without approval.
- Whether recovered orders re-service third-party extras or only the airline’s own ancillaries.
- More announcements from World Aviation Festival on Oct. 14–15, including the Ancillary Arena pitch final on Oct. 15.

Questions
- What is Accelya FLX Recover?
- FLX Recover is an agentic AI product Accelya launched on Oct. 13, 2026, at World Aviation Festival in Lisbon. Powered by Accelya's FLX AIViator layer and built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore with RapidScale, it uses specialised AI agents to assess a disruption, evaluate recovery options, and coordinate reaccommodation, passenger care, communications, and compensation workflows.
- Does FLX Recover consider ancillaries?
- Yes, per Accelya. It can consider onward connections, loyalty status, group and family travel, special assistance, seats, baggage, ancillary purchases, and compensation obligations. Accelya lists 'ancillary value protected' among its suggested success measures.
- Does FLX Recover act on its own?
- Within limits the airline sets. Accelya says the airline decides which scenarios run automatically and which need human approval, and every action is logged and reviewable.
- What did Meili announce with Alaska Airlines?
- On Oct. 13, 2026, Meili said Alaska Airlines partnered with it to modernise car rental booking, connecting directly with car rental partners while keeping control of the experience, brand, and data. Meili says Alaska went from implementation kick-off to live in nine business days.
- Is this legal advice on passenger compensation?
- No. This is industry news for builders. Compensation rights depend on the applicable regulation and the airline's conditions of carriage.
