AI travel agent ancillary stack checklist

By Loris Mazloum

Use this checklist when you are past the demo planner and need a fulfillment stack: flights (or stays), ancillaries, agent tools, and metering.

Email gate → thank-you page → PDF. The checklist PDF is at public/downloads/ai-travel-agent-ancillary-stack-checklist.pdf.

Stack layers the PDF walks through

  1. Air / stays source of truth — offers, orders, bags/seats where the air API supports them (after Duffel framing).
  2. Ancillary shelf — insurance, eSIM, lounge, fast track, transfers, document checks.
  3. Runtime — MCP and/or REST, strict schemas, human confirmation on paid issuance.
  4. Ledger — quoted cost, tags, budgets, idempotency, audit.
  5. Playbooks — versioned recipes (layover kit, long-haul kit).
  6. Compliance posture — no invented policy/immigration text; supplier relay.

Companion narrative: Build an AI travel agent that fulfills ancillaries.
Insurance-scoped sibling: Insurance vs a multi-ancillary shelf.

Questions

How is this different from the insurance vs multi-ancillary checklist?
That checklist focuses on expanding beyond a single cover integration. This one covers the full builder stack—air, ancillaries, runtime, ledger, and playbooks.
Is the PDF ready?
Yes. The checklist PDF is available to download via the email gate.
